Reacting to the buzz surrounding the highly anticipated two-part film, Soni described it as a “fantastic journey” and said the project promises audiences an experience they have not seen before. Her comments come after the makers unveiled the first track, ‘Jai Jai Ram’, along with a new motion poster featuring Ranbir Kapoor and Sai Pallavi.

In an interview with PTI, Soni Razdan spoke about her reaction to the ‘Ramayana’ trailer and the scale of the upcoming film.“I think it’s going to be a fantastic journey. An experience and something which we’ve not seen before. So that is, I think, what came to me from the trailer. It looks like it’s going to take us places we haven’t been before. I think for me, that’s the most exciting part of it,” Soni said.Soni’s comments highlight her anticipation for the visual and cinematic experience promised by the film. ‘Ramayana’ is being mounted as a two-part adaptation of Valmiki’s epic, with Ranbir taking on the role of Lord Rama.

Why ‘Jai Jai Ram’ was released on Ganesh Chaturthi

The makers recently unveiled ‘Jai Jai Ram’, the first song from ‘Ramayana’, alongside a new motion poster featuring Ranbir Kapoor as Lord Rama and Sai Pallavi as Sita. The release was timed with Ganesh Chaturthi, a decision that producer Namit Malhotra said was rooted in the significance of beginning an auspicious journey with the blessings of Lord Ganesha.Explaining the thought behind the song’s release, Namit said, “Shri Ram is at the heart of Ramayana and, for generations, has been the guide we turn to through every phase of life. In moments of darkness, we seek his strength. In moments of uncertainty, we look to his path. In moments of joy, we remember him with gratitude. Jai Jai Ram comes from that deeply personal and timeless relationship we share with Shri Ram.”Malhotra added, “While Ramayana is being created on a great scale, its true foundation lies in its emotion, its values and its devotion. With Jai Jai Ram, we wanted our first song to reflect that soul, to celebrate Shri Ram not only as someone we worship, but as the protector, guide and source of strength we carry within us. Beginning this musical journey on Ganesh Chaturthi felt especially meaningful because, in our culture, every auspicious beginning starts by seeking the blessings of Lord Ganesha.”

Ranbir Kapoor, Yash and Sai Pallavi headline ‘Ramayana’

‘Ramayana’ is being adapted as a two-part cinematic retelling of Valmiki’s epic. Ranbir Kapoor plays Lord Rama, while Yash portrays Ravana and Sai Pallavi plays Sita. The film features an extensive supporting cast, including Ravie Dubey, Sunny Deol, Arun Govil, Lara Dutta, Rakul Preet Singh, Vivek Oberoi and Kunal Kapoor. ‘Ramayana’ Part One is scheduled to release in November, while Part Two is set to arrive next year ahead of Diwali.

Soni Razdan’s upcoming project ‘Shaque’

Meanwhile, Soni Razdan is gearing up for the release of her upcoming show ‘Shaque’, which also stars Parineeti Chopra, Tahir Raj Bhasin, Anup Soni and Jennifer Winget in key roles. Directed by Rensil D’Silva, the series marks Parineeti Chopra’s debut in the series format and her first project since becoming a mother. ‘Shaque’ is set to premiere on Netflix on September 24.
