Silambarasan’s ‘Arasan’ Diwali promo delayed; Here’s why Vetrimaaran decided to stepped back from the major update | Tamil Movie News

Silambarasan TR and Vetrimaaran‘s upcoming film ‘Arasan’ is still generating interest among fans, who are eager to catch a look at the highly anticipated movie. The film has created strong interest among Tamil cinema audiences, especially because it brings together the actor and director after their earlier association with Vada Chennai. While the makers are working towards a theatrical release next year, the promotional plans have also become an important talking point. The much-discussed The World of Arasan video was expected to offer a closer look at the film’s characters, setting and connection to ‘Vada Chennai.’
The World of Arasan video may miss its Diwali release
The eight-minute promotional video, which was planned for a Diwali release, is reportedly facing a delay. According to Cinema Vikatan, the video was expected to feature Vetrimaaran’s voice-over along with appearances by Silambarasan, Andrea Jeremiah, Priyanka Mohan and other cast members. The editing and dubbing work are said to have been completed, with the team initially planning to screen the special content in around 100 theatres. However, the video has apparently failed to make it to the big screens as expected.
Anirudh’s background score becomes a key part of ‘Arasan’ promo plans
The promotional video still requires Anirudh Ravichander‘s background score before it can move forward for censor approval. The composer is currently occupied with his wedding preparations, which have reportedly affected the timeline for completing the music. The team is said to have considered using the background score from an earlier ‘Arasan’ announcement video to avoid further delay. However, Vetrimaaran and Silambarasan are reportedly keen on presenting the promo with fresh music that matches the scale and mood of the film.
‘Arasan’ promo may be attached to Vijay Sethupathi’s ‘Train’
Producer Kalaipuli S Thanu, Vetrimaaran and Silambarasan are reportedly discussing a plan to release The World of Arasan alongside Train, which is expected to arrive in theatres in the first week of December. Under this plan, the promotional video could reach around 1,000 theatres across Tamil Nadu, giving the film wider visibility. While an official confirmation is awaited, the team is said to be looking at a larger theatrical launch for the video rather than rushing it for Diwali. Fans can therefore expect a fresh update on Arasan’s promotional campaign in the coming weeks.
