The youngest of three siblings, Enrique Miguel Iglesias Preysler was born on May 8, 1975, in Madrid, Spain. His father is Julio Iglesias, a legendary Spanish singer and songwriter, and his mother, Isabel Preysler, a Filipina socialite and magazine journalist. While his parents did not stay together, he spent his early years with his mother until December 1981. Later on, he and his brother were sent to Miami for their safety, where they were mainly raised by their nanny. Iglesias started college; however, after a while, he dropped out to pursue his dreams of becoming a musician. His journey started after his nanny loaned him some money, and he recorded a demo tape under the name Enrique Martinez and went to Toronto to record his first album. At the time, he did not wish for his father to know that he also wanted to enter the music industry.He made his debut in the music industry with his first self-titled album on July 12, 1995. The album made such a big splash in the market and even sold half a million copies within its first week of release.
