Jantar Mantar protest: Yogendra Yadav, Prashant Bhushan lead march amid police crackdown

NEW DELHI: Activist Yogendra Yadav and his former Anna Andolan comrade Prashant Bhushan were seen leading a march from Jor Bagh towards Dilli Haat-INA on Saturday, amid the crackdown on the Cockroach Janta Party’s (CJP) planned ‘Jantar Mantar 2.0’ protest.A video showed the psephologist and former AAP leader Yadav walking alongside Bhushan, a lawyer and former AAP colleague, and AISA student leader Neha Bora.The march took place as CJP’s key leaders remained in police detention, unable to reach the planned protest site.CJP founder Abhijeet Dipke and leaders Saurav Das and Ashutosh Ranka were detained by Delhi Police shortly after arriving at the Indira Gandhi International Airport from Mumbai.Police personnel reportedly boarded their aircraft to detain them.The CJP had called for the demonstration to demand the resignation of chief election commissioner Gyanesh Kumar over the Election Commission’s special intensive revision (SIR) of electoral rolls.
