‘LoP working with anti-social elements’: BJP as Rahul Gandhi, opposition MPs continue anti-CEC protests | India News

NEW DELHI: BJP national president Nitin Nabin on Wednesday accused Congress MP and Lok Sabha leader of opposition Rahul Gandhi of working with “anti-social elements” as the opposition staged protests for the second consecutive day against Chief Election Commissioner (CEC) Gyanesh Kumar.Nabin said the people of India would “never let Rahul Gandhi succeed.”“The LoP is working with anti-social elements in an atmosphere of anarchy. I would like to tell him clearly that the people of India will never let his motive and intent become a reality. He is trying to spread anarchy in Delhi with the help of anti-social elements,” The BJP chief said at a rally.Nabin accused Rahul Gandhi of fighting only for those who “snatch away the rights of the public.”“I would like to tell the LoP that the people whose rights he speaks about protecting include infiltrators. The people of India will never allow such infiltrators to be given rights. Who do you care about? Who are you fighting for?” he stated.“If the names of such infiltrators are struck off through the SIR and you still question the country’s democracy over it, the biggest question is being raised about you. The people of India will respond to such an anarchist mindset,” Nabin added. The opposition is demanding that the Election Commission (EC) restore more than 13 crore names removed from the electoral rolls following the Special Intensive Revision (SIR) of electoral rolls. The demand is among several raised by the opposition as it continued its protest against CEC Kumar. The protest follows a report by The Indian Express stating that the two Election Commissioners, Sukhbir Singh Sandhu and Vivek Joshi, had formally raised objections at least 14 times over the past 10 months, claiming that several decisions, including those related to the SIR, were taken without their knowledge.
