J&K: Security forces search Kathua forests after locals report suspicious movement | India News

NEW DELHI: Security forces conducted a search operation in the forested areas of Jammu and Kashmir’s Kathua district on Thursday after locals reported suspected movement of unidentified persons, officials said. The search was launched in the Billawar forests near the Udhampur-Kathua border as part of heightened surveillance in the sensitive border region, as reported by PTI.The operation followed reports from villagers who said unidentified people allegedly knocked on the door of a house late Wednesday night. The family did not respond, but noticed the following morning that food stored inside the house was missing, raising suspicions that someone may have entered the premises.
