Realtor.com reported that the couple had owned the property for the past six years; however, they were extremely unhappy with the area that they resided in. The space was bought back in 2020 for USD 3.25 million. Spanning 1.48 acres, the main residence itself is quite large and is spread over somewhere between 7,700 and 11,500 square feet of land.As for the main residence, the space has seven bedrooms and 7.5 bathrooms. It also features a detached two-story guesthouse, along with an outdoor screened rotunda with a fireplace, as well as a private lagoon-style heated pool with waterfalls. The Brolins also had a lot of renovations done in the home over the past couple of years, which included adding a basement home theater and a professional-grade gym fitted with a custom sauna and cold plunge. The interior of the home was cozy and featured 10-foot ceilings, striped wallpaper, crown molding, and large arched doorways, among other features. The property is surrounded by plush green trees and provides the residents a stunning view of nature every day.Brolin decided to sell the property soon after and had also shared over the past year that he did not like the area anymore. In an old panel discussion at the Atlanta Film Festival, the actor had shared, “It’s an easy town. And what I love about Atlanta, especially, is it’s so diverse. We have a house in Sandy Springs, which I don’t particularly like. I just don’t. I’m just being honest. But downtown, like Inman Park and all that, I love.” As to what he did not like about the space? Brolin added, “I like a little grit. You know what I mean? There’s not a lot of grit in Sandy Springs.”

Brolin wished to sell the property off after the entire family moved all the way to California. There, they instead bought a USD 7.1 million farmhouse in Santa Barbara in 2024. Alongside that, the Atlanta mansion had been put up as a rental home, with the monthly rent valued at USD 35,000/month rental.Originally, the property hit the market in April this year with an asking price of USD 4.999 million, though it was removed from the market within three days. After some time, along with a price reduction to USD 4.75 million, Brolin’s property made it to the market yet again. According to TMZ, the ‘Milk’ actor just recently closed the deal at USD 4 million to a non-celebrity buyer.
