Govt sets up panel, 30-day deadline to clear 22A property cases | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: In a major relief measure for thousands of property owners caught in the section 22A prohibited list, the state govt has constituted a three-member high-level committee to examine pending cases and resolve long-standing disputes within a fixed 30-day timeframe.Announcing the decision during zero hour in the assembly on Friday, revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy said the govt had identified 12 categories of issues relating to properties included in the 22A prohibited list and was committed to resolving all of them.The high-level committee will be headed by CCLA commissioner Lokesh Kumar, with law secretary B Papi Reddy and special secretary, registration and stamps, Raeevgandhi Hanumanthu serving as members.The committee has been tasked with examining cases and representations relating to properties included in the prohibited list and recommending measures to resolve the various issues arising from their inclusion under section 22A. The minister said the panel was being constituted to ensure grievances of property owners were addressed in a time-bound manner.Ponguleti said the govt would also issue a special GO for properties that had secured approvals from GHMC, HMDA and other competent authorities but could not be registered after being brought under the 22A list. The GO will provide a mechanism to facilitate the registration of such properties.Highlighting the LB Nagar issue, the minister said a memo had already been issued covering 23 colonies whose houses were brought under the 22A list. Around 9,000 residents from these colonies have applied seeking relief.“Chief minister Revanth Reddy, when he was MP of that area, had promised residents that their properties would be removed from the prohibited list. Around 9,000 people have applied for this relief. On Saturday, I will visit the area, and initiate proceedings,” he said.The govt‘s intervention comes amid years of complaints from property owners who have been unable to register, transfer or transact their properties due to their inclusion in the prohibited list.Ponguleti said all identified categories of 22A-related issues would be taken up for resolution, with the govt aiming to bring clarity and closure to thousands of pending property cases across the state.
