Filmmaker Sanjay Gupta took to X (formerly Twitter) on Tuesday evening to share a few lesser-known details about the late, great Feroz Khan. His post offered a peek into the values the actor lived by, both on set and in his personal life.

Why Feroz Khan walked away from ‘Hera Pheri‘

According to one of Gupta’s posts, Feroz Khan walked away from Prakash Mehra‘s ‘Hera Pheri’ (1976), a project that would have paired him with Amitabh Bachchan, because the schedule included Sundays, a day he refused to work. In a separate post, Gupta applauded Khan for staying thankful to the little-known filmmakers who gave him a chance in his struggling years.Sanjay wrote on X, “INTERESTING TRIVIA : Prakash Mehra offered Feroz Khan the film Hera Pheri with Amitabh Bachchan. The story follows Vijay (Amitabh Bachchan) and Ajay (Vinod Khanna), two inseparable friends who make their living through petty crime. Feroz Khan’s film career

Feroz Khan entered the film industry in 1960 and appeared in a number of well-known films over the years, among them ‘Arzoo’, ‘Aadmi Aur Insaan’, ‘Safar’, ‘Mela’, ‘Apradh’, ‘Khotey Sikkay’, ‘Kaala Sona’ and ‘Nagin’. He later established himself behind the camera too, directing, producing and acting in movies like ‘Dharmatma’, ‘Qurbani’ and ‘Janbaaz’. His final appearance on the big screen came in the comedy ‘Welcome’ (2009).The actor passed away on April 27, 2009, at the age of 69.
