Ensure expeditious resolution of grievances, Adluri tells officials | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: SC and ST welfare minister Adluri Lakshman Kumar on Wednesday said the Congress govt was committed to taking governance closer to the people instead of making them run from pillar to post in govt offices to get their grievances addressed. The minister received grievances and representations from the people at the face-to-face programme held at Gandhi Bhavan and said a majority of the representations pertained to people seeking Indiramma houses and ration cards. People from various districts surrounding Hyderabad came in large numbers to submit their representations, he said.“Receiving representations would not mark the end of the process. Every grievance would be followed up and monitored until it reaches its logical conclusion. I directed the officials to ensure expeditious resolution of urgent matters and take appropriate action, as per the applicable rules, on other issues. Problems pertaining to Scheduled Castes, Scheduled Tribes, persons with disabilities, senior citizens, transgender persons, the poor and other marginalised sections would be accorded priority in resolving them,” Adluri Lakshman said. The minister criticised the previous BRS regime for failing to give adequate importance to directly hearing and addressing people’s grievances. People were left without an effective platform to voice their concerns during the previous BRS govt tenure, he alleged. In contrast, the Congress govt was implementing a people-centric and accessible model of governance, he said.
