Neuralink executive Shivon Zilis made a long social media post hinting that Elon Musk has broken up with him all of a sudden. Zilis made the statement reacting to a post that noticed that Elon Musk was not following Zilis on X anymore. “It’s hard to go from in love to let go in a week with no warning, but that’s just how it is sometimes,” Zilis wrote.

Who is Shivon Zilis?
Zilis is a Canadian AI executive, venture capitalist and a former board member of OpenAI. She graduated from Yale with degrees in economics and philosophy. She began her career with IBM in Peru and Indonesia. She later became a founding partner at Bloomberg Beta focusing on machine intelligence investments. She also worked on project direction for Tesla Autopilot and chip design.Elon Musk and Shivon Zilis met through OpenAI in 2016 where Zilis was an adviser. Zilis joined Neuralink in 2017 and eventually became its director of operations and special projects. This put her in Musk’s professional orbit on a much closer basis. In November 2021, Musk and Zilis welcomed twins, Strider and Azure, in Austin, Texas. They were conceived through IVF. Their births were initially kept private. Musk’s biographer Walter Isaacson described Zilis as an “intellectual companion” and wrote extensively about their close relationship.Musk and Zilis petitioned a Texas court to change the twins’ names so they would include Musk’s surname. The court documents made their parentage public in July 2022.Musk and Zilis had a third child, a daughter named Arcadia. Musk confirmed the birth in June 2024, saying the birth had not been deliberately kept secret.In January 2025, Zilis accompanied Musk at events around Donald Trump’s inauguration, including social gatherings involving other prominent technology figures. Musk met Canadian author Justine Wilson while both were students at Queen’s University in Ontario. They married in 2000. The couple had six children, although their first son, Nevada Alexander, died of sudden infant death syndrome at 10 weeks old in 2002. They had twins Griffin and Vivian in 2004 and triplets Kai, Saxon and Damian in 2006.The marriage ended in 2008. Wilson later wrote about the relationship in a 2010 Marie Claire essay, describing feelings of being diminished within the marriage.Soon after their divorce, Musk began dating British actress Talulah Riley.
