ED claims cash disclosures in Veena's notes

NEW DELHI: ED Tuesday conducted follow-up searches at nine premises in Kozhikode related to people mentioned in the handwritten notes of Veena, the daughter of former Kerala CM Pinarayi Vijayan, which it had seized in May.On Wednesday, the agency alleged that the seizure of handwritten accounts and digital devices from Veena revealed that she had been party to undisclosed transactions of over Rs 20 crore in India and Rs 85 lakh related to Dubai.ED had conducted searches in May in connection with a money laundering case related to fraud by Cochin Minerals and Rutile Limited.The handwritten accounts contained the names of persons, amounts handled/spent, amounts transferred to Dubai, etc, the agency said. ED further said the digital devices contained the photograph of a SIM card obtained in the name of another person for use in a Wi-Fi router. tnn
