According to Sacnilk, ‘Drishyam 3’ has collected Rs 216.50 crore net in India over its first five days. The film launched strongly on Friday with Rs 62 crore at the domestic box office. Saturday dipped to Rs 53.50 crore, but Sunday bounced back to Rs 61 crore with 56% occupancy, giving the film a solid weekend base ahead of the typical weekday slowdown. That slowdown arrived sharply on Monday, when earnings fell to Rs 21 crore, roughly 65.6% below Sunday’s number. Tuesday saw a further decline, with Rs 19 crore and 23% occupancy.

‘Drishyam 3’ closes in on Drishyam 2’s record

Despite the midweek dip, ‘Drishyam 3’ has already pulled in more than twice what the original ‘Drishyam’ earned in its entire theatrical run, which closed at Rs 102.75 crore. The bigger story is how close it now sits to ‘Drishyam 2’, whose net India total stood at Rs 239.67 crore. The third film trails that figure by roughly Rs 30 crore, so if it holds steady through the coming days, it could soon edge past its predecessor and claim the title of the franchise’s highest earner.

Ajay Devgn now has a new best opening to his name. ‘Drishyam 3’ brought in Rs 62 crore net on day one, comfortably ahead of ‘Singham Again’, which debuted at Rs 43.50 crore. That Rohit Shetty film wrapped up its run at Rs 247.86 crore, while ‘Raid 2’ finished at Rs 173.44 crore. In only five days, ‘Drishyam 3’ has shown tremendous success, surpassing the latter film, and its final tally is yet to be seen.
