Cong MPs to probe land holdings near KCR farmhouse: Chamala

Hyderabad: Congress MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy on Thursday announced that party MPs would conduct inquiries at district collectorates into land parcels surrounding former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s farmhouse at Erravelli.Speaking at Gandhi Bhavan, Chamala alleged that nearly 295 acres of land were located around the Erravelli farmhouse and claimed that another 300 acres between Venkatapur and Erravelli were under the control of BRS leaders. He questioned whether any overlapping land parcels were linked to the farmhouse and asked whether such lands would be distributed to the poor.The Congress leader also targeted BRS working president KT Rama Rao over land parcels in Janwada. He alleged that some properties earlier attached by the Enforcement Directorate had later surfaced under names linked to KTR and demanded an explanation regarding their ownership.Chamala said 85 acres in survey No. 130 of Hakimpet mandal had been identified as assigned land and distributed to eligible beneficiaries. He questioned whether different standards were being applied to different individuals in land-related matters.He said revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy had instructed officials to review lands included in prohibited lists and ensure that genuine landowners and ordinary citizens were not inconvenienced.
