Cong & BRS colluded to cover up corruption: BJP

Hyderabad: Telangana BJP president N Ramchander Rao on Friday alleged that Congress and BRS were engaged in a “quid pro quo” to cover up alleged corruption during their respective tenures. Addressing the media at the BJP state office, Rao said the CM had recently levelled allegations against former BRS ministers and members of the KCR family, while BRS leaders, in turn, accused Congress of corruption. He said the exchange of allegations had done nothing to address people’s problems.Rao alleged that Congress had promised to expose corruption under the previous BRS govt and make arrests within 100 days of coming to power, but had failed to make any arrests in the cases so far. He alleged that govt was limiting itself to statements and had entered into an understanding with BRS. He also accused Congress of failing to address teachers’ issues, alleging that GO 190 was not being properly implemented.Rao said around 4,000 teachers were eligible for transfers or deputations under the order, but only 100 to 200 had benefited. He condemned the arrests of teachers protesting outside Gandhi Bhavan and demanded that their grievances be addressed. He also alleged that farmers were facing severe distress due to lack of water and power. He demanded the immediate release of one instalment of Rythu Bharosa to support farmers preparing for the rabi season.
