Hyderabad: The Cyberabad Municipal Corporation (CMC) has intensified its crackdown on unauthorised under-construction buildings across its three zones, with 17 structures demolished on Tuesday.The demolitions included seven buildings in Serilingampally, two in Kukatpally and eight in Quthbullapur. Officials also served notices to 11 unauthorised constructions and identified 54 more through MyCURE, Prajavani petitions and field inspections.Officials said the identification and enforcement drive would continue to ensure violations are detected at an early stage and action taken promptly.“We will continue to closely monitor enforcement activities across all three zones to strengthen compliance with building regulations and safeguard public safety,” a CMC official said.Under the latest directions, buildings on plots smaller than 75 sq yards and exceeding seven metres in height will face enforcement action. Buildings on plots larger than 75 sq yards constructed without building permission will also be identified for demolition, irrespective of their height.The intensified drive follows the collapse of a seven-storey under-construction building in Anjaiah Nagar, Gachibowli, on Saturday, which killed two people. Nine unauthorised structures were demolished on Monday.The commissioner has directed town planning and enforcement teams to conduct daily field inspections and ensure timely action.“Unauthorised constructions can compromise structural safety and put innocent lives at risk. Residents should obtain the required permissions and follow building laws and safety norms before starting construction,” officials said.
