Brother-in-law, 2 others held for attacking woman over property dispute | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Three days after a woman was attacked in an attempt to murder her, the Tappachabutra police on Thursday arrested three accused.The accused were identified as Mohammed Dastagir Shareef, Gulam Nahi Qureshi, and Mohammed Osman. Police also recovered the butter knife used in the attack.According to the police, the victim, Shameem Begum, is the sister-in-law of the prime accused, Dastagir, who allegedly held a grudge against her over a property dispute involving their families.Police said Dastagir conspired with the other two accused to kill Shameem. On the day of the incident, the trio allegedly barged into her house and attempted to attack her. When her husband intervened, he was overpowered. The accused then chased Shameem onto the road and stabbed her multiple times before fleeing the scene after residents began gathering.Based on a complaint lodged by the victim’s family, the police launched an investigation and arrested the three accused. Shameem Begum is currently undergoing treatment at a hospital.
