Mammootty arrived at the 72nd National Film Awards ceremony in a sharp white suit ahead of the presentation by President Droupadi Murmu.

Speaking on the red carpet, Mammootty reflected on the significance of receiving his fourth National Award and credited the filmmakers, colleagues and audiences who have supported him throughout his career.“It’s an inspiration to every performer to get recognised by the nation and luckily I’m very fortunate to have my fourth National Award for the Best Actor. It’s been a long journey with a lot of people behind me or supporting me, my directors, my writers, my co-actors and my producer and the people who were appreciating me,” he said, as reported by NDTV.

The actor also spoke about his desire to continue working for as long as he can. Despite a career spanning several decades, Mammootty said he hopes to keep entertaining audiences and remain committed to his craft.“I’m very happy that I could entertain them for such a long time and hope that I can do it more, more and more times. I can only assure you that I’ll be working very hard to be there,” he said.

Mammootty’s winning performance in ‘Bramayugam’ saw him step into the role of Kodumon Potti, a powerful and mysterious character in Rahul Sadasivan’s atmospheric horror film. Presented in black and white, the film required a distinctive visual approach, with Mammootty undergoing a striking transformation for the part. Discussing his process, the actor said, “I choose the script, then the role.”He also credited the director and the film’s technical departments, including the makeup, costume and cinematography teams, for helping shape the character’s memorable appearance.
