BJP calls for white paper on list of prohibited land parcels

Hyderabad: BJP legislature party leader A Maheshwar Reddy on Tuesday said he would write an open letter to Congress leader Rahul Gandhi, detailing alleged land deals and corruption involving Telangana ministers and seeking his intervention. He said BJP would also submit complaints to the Enforcement Directorate, Central Bureau of Investigation and Lokayukta.Addressing a news conference at the BJP state office, Maheshwar Reddy demanded a white paper on the prohibited land list, and sought a comprehensive probe or a CBI inquiry into the alleged irregularities.He alleged that large-scale irregularities and land deals were taking place under the Congress govt. He said minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy’s apology over the inclusion of land in the 22A prohibited list was itself an indication of the seriousness of the issue.He also claimed a quid pro quo between firms linked to Ponguleti and Phoenix, which he claimed was linked to BRS leaders. Maheshwar Reddy further alleged that industrial lands in Nanakramguda, Puppalaguda, Narsingi, Kokapet and Hitec City were converted for residential use and that properties worth around ₹15,000 crore were transferred.
