Bid to boost education, employability

NEW DELHI: Brics nations aim to tighten links between education and jobs, prioritising STEM, vocational training, digital skills and AI, while improving forecasts of future workforce needs, reports Manash Gohain.The New Delhi Declaration connects the full pipeline from basic learning and digital literacy to higher education, technical training and jobs. It calls for cooperation on safe, human-centred use of emerging technologies, including AI.It supports UG and PG STEM scholarships and urges closer ties between TVET institutions and industry to expand job opportunities. The goal is making training more responsive to job market shifts. Member nations commit to studying trends in digital, green, care and other priority sectors to anticipate the skills employers will require. The declaration also welcomes Brics Connect, a network focused on capacity building, employability, and new skills and technologies.
