ETimes review

Our ETimes review acknowledged that the film takes time to establish its world. It also pointed out that the comedy in the portions featuring Lal does not always work. However, the narrative becomes more engaging after revealing the protagonist’s weakness. Our exclusive review reads, “The opening portions that set up this world are rather flat (the comedy in the scenes featuring Lal don’t really land) but from the moment it reveals its protagonist’s weakness, the film starts getting into the groove. And by the time the cat-and-mouse game between Inba and Easwaran begins, it has us entirely hooked. We get some of the nail-biting tension and suspense of serial killer films, but without the humour, inventiveness and heroism making way for it. And that’s Scene’s success.”
