Hyderabad: A Khammam YouTuber says his home has turned into an unlikely delivery hub, with refrigerators, televisions, food parcels and even taxi bookings allegedly arriving at his doorstep round-the-clock despite him never placing the orders.Gunti Nagaraju, a resident of Koyachelaka village in Raghunathapalem mandal, claims he has been targeted by a barrage of unsolicited cash on delivery (COD) orders and app-based taxi requests over the past four days, forcing him to repeatedly appeal to viewers to stop the alleged harassment.Nagaraju, who runs a YouTube channel with over 4.05 lakh subscribers and more than 10,000 uploaded videos, said unidentified persons have been placing orders in his name for televisions, refrigerators, air-conditioners, coolers, fans and food from hotels. He also claimed that app-based taxi services were receiving bookings showing his residence as the pickup location.According to Nagaraju, delivery agents and taxi drivers have been turning up at his house from early morning until nearly 11 pm every day. Since the consignments are booked on a COD basis, delivery personnel arrive expecting payment and often seek clarification when he refuses to accept the orders. While some agents cancel the orders after being informed that he did not place them, others reportedly insist that he receive the consignments and make the payment, adding to his frustration. To stop the calls and deliveries, Nagaraju said he switched off two of his mobile phones. However, the orders allegedly continued, prompting him to post fresh videos requesting people not to misuse his details. The YouTuber said the trouble began days after he posted a video highlighting crop damage. Following that video, one or two people reportedly extended financial assistance to him. A similar episode recently surfaced in Tamil Nadu, where a Madurai resident, Shanmukanathan, complained of receiving unwanted COD bookings for household appliances and other items. In a video uploaded on Thursday, Nagaraju claimed he had approached the police seeking help over the alleged harassment. However, police disputed that assertion.Raghunathapalem inspector T Karunakar said no complaint had been received from Nagaraju regarding the unsolicited deliveries or taxi bookings.“I also saw his video claiming that he had lodged a complaint, but he has not submitted any complaint to us about these issues. We received a Dial 112 call from his wife alleging domestic violence, following which our police personnel visited their home and counselled him. Apart from that, we have not received any complaint about unidentified persons ordering food and electronic appliances on COD or harassing him,” the inspector said. The inspector further said police are also examining other possibilities behind the episode. He added that investigators suspected whether Nagaraju himself could be arranging the orders to boost his follower count and increase video views. However, he clarified that no evidence had emerged so far to establish any such involvement.
