Hyderabad: Tourism and culture minister Jupally Krishna Rao on Sunday directed officials to organise Bathukamma celebrations on a grand scale across Telangana, ensuring vibrant festivities in every village, town, city and neighbourhood.The minister instructed officials to make elaborate arrangements for the Saddula Bathukamma celebrations at Hyderabad’s Tank Bund and ensure the event is conducted with effective coordination among all departments.Jupally held a review meeting with senior officials of various departments at Tourism Plaza in Begumpet to discuss preparations for the festival. Emphasising that Bathukamma represents Telangana’s identity, culture, traditions and close relationship with nature, the minister called for efforts to popularise the festival’s significance among the public. He also instructed officials to encourage large-scale public participation and involve prominent personalities and celebrities in promoting the festival.
