Hyderabad: Union minister G Kishan Reddy on Thursday hit out at Telangana chief minister A Revanth Reddy over his recent remarks comparing Lord Ram and Lord Shiva, alleging that the CM was trying to create divisions among Hindus for political gains.Kishan Reddy said Revanth’s remarks that Lord Shiva was associated with the poor and Lord Ram with the rich were unnecessary and accused him of making statements that could create differences among people. CM Revanth had made the remarks at an event in New Delhi, where he also referred to the political and cultural differences between north and south India.Kishan Reddy alleged that Congress had a history of creating divisions on the basis of caste, religion, language and regional identities. He also questioned why Revanth was making such remarks about Hindu deities and referred to Rahul Gandhi’s earlier use of Lord Shiva’s image in Parliament.He accused the CM of diverting attention from the implementation of Congress’s 2023 election promises and alleged that Revanth was making such statements to please the Congress leadership.Kishan Reddy said the CM should focus on Telangana’s development and people’s issues rather than making controversial statements on religion.
