Hyderabad: Chief minister A Revanth Reddy on Tuesday directed officials to ensure that the upcoming airports at Warangal and Adilabad, as well as the new Telangana Bhavan in New Delhi, reflect Telangana’s rich culture and heritage. He instructed officials to study the architectural and sculptural styles of the Kakatiya Kala Thoranam, Ramappa Temple and Pillalamarri Temple, which embody the state’s history and culture, and incorporate elements of Telangana’s heritage into the new constructions.The CM held a review meeting on the proposed construction of the Adilabad and Warangal airports and the Telangana Bhavan in Delhi. Officials briefed the CM on various logistical issues at the airport sites, including the shifting of power lines, diversion of streams and roads, and the relocation of BSNL lines and drinking water supply pipelines. Revanth issued several directives to the officials on the construction of roads along the airport compound walls and their connection to nearby district, state, and national highways.The CM cautioned that numerous complications could arise if the departments executed works under their respective jurisdictions without coordination with other wings. The energy, roads and buildings, drinking water supply and irrigation departments were told to hold a meeting with BSNL officials to ensure that the works proceed concurrently without any interruption.He stressed the need for a comprehensive plan that takes into account both current and future requirements during the execution of the projects. The meeting also discussed the diversion of water bodies, as well as the shifting of tanks and their reconstruction within or near the airport premises to facilitate the diversion.The CM directed officials to develop a wider road network connecting the airports and nearby major highways. While reviewing the designs for the airports and the Telangana Bhavan in Delhi, the CM suggested several modifications to highlight Telangana’s culture and architectural styles in the construction of the facilities.
