NEW DELHI: In Rajasthan local body polls, a single vote decided the fate of an Independent candidate Jagdish Prasad as he defeated BJP’s Ramsharan by the narrowest possible margin, securing 151 votes against his rival’s 150, as news agency IANS reported.Coincidentally, mother of the Independent candidate contesting from Ward No. 6 died a day after casting her ballot in the polls.With just one vote separating the two candidates, every single ballot proved decisive. Even a vote would have reversed the result, making the Jagdish Prasad’s mother ballot especially significant for the family.
