Army rescues minor from being swept away towards Pak
Army personnel Friday rescued a minor girl from being swept away

JAMMU: Alert Army personnel Friday rescued a minor girl from being swept away towards Pakistan by the strong currents of a seasonal rivulet in J&K’s Poonch district.“Around 1.10pm, troops of Army’s 30 Punjab Regiment manning a forward post spotted the girl, aged around 14-15 years, being washed away in the strong currents of the seasonal Mendhar nullah from Balnoi and along the Roshni-Mandi belt towards Pakistan,” an official said.“Soldiers jumped into the water and pulled her out in an unconscious condition at Katra post. She was rushed to Mankote primary health centre,” the official said. Local police, medical authorities, and the village head of the area were also present.Officials said the health of the teen, a resident of Balnoi in Poonch district, had since stabilised and her family members were informed about her condition.
