Hyderabad: A 45-year-old businessman allegedly died by suicide at his house in Hussainialam on Friday night. The deceased was identified as Md Aleemuddin. Police said he had reportedly been suffering from mental health issues and was undergoing treatment.At around 7.30 pm, he allegedly shot himself with his licensed 0.22 rifle. “Aleemuddin has a licensed weapon and was cleaning it when he shot himself in the head in a room on the ground floor of his house. He died on the spot,” Hussainialam inspector A Anjaneyulu said.During the preliminary probe, police found out that Aleemuddin had been facing financial problems for some time and was also battling with mental health issues. “Aleem was suffering from anxiety and undergoing treatment. Family members said he was disturbed due to financial and health problems. We were told that he had attempted to end his life in the past as well,” the inspector said.Following the incident, locals alerted the police. A Clues team was called to the spot to collect forensic evidence. The firearm along with the ammunition was seized. The body was shifted to OGH for postmortem. Police said they would register a case under relevant sections after receiving a complaint from the family.
