Hyderabad: As the govt steps up scrutiny of landholdings in Erravelli, the revenue department has issued notices to nearly 150 farmers in Siddipet district as part of a massive exercise to verify land titles and redraw field boundaries.The drive comes amid plans to survey lands in and around former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao’s farmhouse to check allegations of encroachment on assigned lands.While notices were issued to about 100 farmers on Sept 19, another 50 farmers received notices on Monday. Farmers said they were served notices by the Markook tahsildar directing them to be present with their pattadar passbooks and other land records in their respective agricultural fields.Revenue and survey officials verified the documents of several farmers, though the actual field survey is yet to begin. “The actual survey has not taken place yet,” farmers said.According to govt sources, survey No. 325, where KCR’s farmhouse is located, covers 382 acres and is being cultivated by 204 farmers. Chief minister A Revanth Reddy announced a comprehensive land survey in Erravelli, particularly to ascertain whether any assigned land is under the possession of KCR.Some farmers are reportedly cultivating land in excess of the extent recorded in their passbooks, while others suspect they possess less land than what is reflected in official records.“Based on the farmers’ possession and land documents, the revenue and survey departments will finalise the boundaries and issue fresh passbooks wherever required,” sources said.Meanwhile, sources said notices would soon be issued to KCR before officials take up a survey of lands within the farmhouse premises.
