‘Include one member from Brahmin community in temple boards’

Hyderabad: Addressing a news conference on Saturday, Telangana Brahmin Parishad chairperson Basavaraju Srinivas said, “The Brahmin Parishad would gather the details of eligible Brahmins who had participated in the Telangana movement from the village level to the state level, along with supporting evidence such as jail records, FIR copies, and medical reports relating to property loss or injuries, and submit them to the committee appointed to identify the Telangana martyrs”.He also said they had suggested the creation of an online system so that activists could directly submit their own details. The committee responded positively to this proposal and assured that it would place the matter before the govt for suitable action, the chairperson said.Srinivas said he had met the committee chairperson K Keshava Rao and requested that eligible Brahmin activists also be given proper recognition and welfare support.

Srinivas also urged the state govt to include one Brahmin member in every temple governing board in the state. “Involvement of Brahmins who are knowledgeable about Agama traditions would support tradition, transparency, and efficient temple administration,” he said.
