Why is FaZe Banks attacking Plaqueboymax? Kai Cenat comparison, Halloween controversy and Super Bowl halftime challenge | World News

Plaqueboymax’s Halloween 2026 livestream has led to a public clash with Adin Ross and former FaZe Clan figure Ricky “Banks” Bengtson. Max and his crew dressed as stereotypical white men and copied their voices and mannerisms. Adin joked that he and his friends could do blackface in a stream, prompting Max to question his respect for Black culture. Banks then argued that Max’s costume showed a lack of respect for white people. He later turned his criticism toward Max’s career, saying the streamer had fallen short of the huge future he once expected for Max.
Adin Ross and Plaqueboymax disagree over Black culture after Halloween livestream
The controversy started after Plaqueboymax and his friends appeared in their Halloween costumes during a Twitch livestream on October 31, 2026. Their outfits and impressions were based on stereotypical white men. The clips later caught Adin Ross’ attention during his own Kick stream.Adin found the costumes funny and suggested that he could try something similar with his friends Cheesur and Konvy. However, his idea involved wearing blackface. He said:“This is hilarious… what if me, Cheesur, Konvy, bro, we all do blackface? I ain’t gon’ lie, that might be a banger stream, chat… If they can do it, I can do it!”His comment did not sit well with Plaqueboymax. The Twitch streamer later addressed Adin directly and questioned why he was comfortable making such a suggestion when Black culture had played a major role in his success.Plaqueboymax said:“Adin, you confuse me, bruh. You deeply confuse me. A lot of your success is rooted in Black culture. My question is, why don’t you respect Black culture?”Max also made it clear that he still considered Adin one of his favourite streamers. His issue was with the suggestion of using blackface for entertainment. The discussion then took another turn when Banks shared his thoughts. He argued that if wearing blackface showed disrespect towards Black culture, then Max’s decision to dress up as a white man should also be seen as disrespectful towards white people.Banks said:“This is a self-report. You’re saying you don’t respect White culture, or white people. Because if him doing blackface equals disrespecting Black culture, then you doing whiteface equals disrespecting White culture.”
FaZe Banks says Plaqueboymax was supposed to become the next Kai Cenat
Banks’ comments did not stop at the Halloween costume. He also brought up Max’s career and questioned the kind of content he had been making recently. The two streamers have a history of disagreements. Both were connected to FaZe Clan before their departures in 2025. Max left the organization in August, while the group faced a major split among its content creators during Christmas. Several creators announced their exits on December 25 and 26, 2025. The departures marked a major change for FaZe’s content division, while its esports operation continued separately, as reported by Dexerto.Tension between Banks and Max had already been building before the Halloween incident. During the FaZe fallout, Banks had criticised Max and reportedly described him as having an ego. Their latest disagreement has brought those earlier issues back into the discussion.Reacting to Max’s Halloween stream, Banks questioned whether the streamer was now relying on controversial moments to get attention. He also brought up criticism of Max’s music and the negative reactions he had seen to his livestreams.Banks said:“This is the only way you can get views now… All I see clips of you is bull**** like this. It’s you crying on stream, you saying outlandish, delusional, ****, and people clowning you and trashing your music, or **** like this, doing whiteface. What the **** are you doing?”He then reminded viewers of the expectations he once had for Max. Banks believed the streamer had the potential to become one of the biggest names in the streaming world. He added:“You were supposed to be the next Kai Cenat. You were supposed to be one of the biggest, greatest streamers of all time.”Banks also brought up Max’s ambition to perform at the Super Bowl halftime show. He appeared doubtful that the streamer would ever reach that stage and made a bold promise about what he would do if Max achieved that goal.Banks said:“Talking about you’re gonna do the halftime show… Max, on everything I love, if you ever perform the halftime show, in our lifetime… I will get ‘5STAR PLAQUEBOYMAX’ tattooed across the middle of my face in big, blocky, bold bubble letters.”Banks’ remarks added another personal issue to the disagreement. Rather than focusing only on whether the Halloween costumes were acceptable, he questioned what had happened to the potential he once saw in Max.The exchange has also brought attention back to the difficult relationship between the two former FaZe associates. Neither the costume debate nor their earlier disagreements appear to have been settled.
