Hyderabad: A 57-year-old gas godown manager died by suicide at a lodge near the RTC bus stand in Bhadrachalam on Saturday night, leaving behind a note alleging harassment by a woman colleague, her husband and three media employees.Anantula Lakshminarayana worked at a civil supplies department gas godown in Palvancha, Bhadradri Kothagudem district. The woman employee had recently accused him of sexual harassment in a complaint to the district collector, who ordered an inquiry by an internal committee. Before checking into the lodge, Lakshminarayana posted a letter, described as a “death declaration,” in his office WhatsApp group. Colleagues alerted the police, who rushed to the lodge and shifted him to Bhadrachalam govt hospital, where he was declared dead.Bhadrachalam town police inspector M Nagaraju said a case had been registered based on a complaint from the family and an investigation was underway. In the letter, Lakshminarayana alleged that the woman had targeted him after he objected to irregularities at the gas agency, including the alleged collection of excess money from consumers. He said he had written to the district manager in 2025 seeking CCTV cameras at the Palvancha office, but they had not been installed. He also alleged that the woman, her husband, Nayini Rajesh, and others had harassed, abused and threatened him. How are we supposed to manage like this, sir?”Lakshminarayana named those he held responsible for his death in the letter. The allegations have not been independently verified.
