Salman Khan hints that Karan Johar was scared, stressed to talk to him because of his fall-out with Shah Rukh Khan: 'Now it's all good between us for the longest time'

Salman Khan has revisited the strained phase in his relationship with Shah Rukh Khan, hinting at their past fallout while recalling an awkward equation with filmmaker Karan Johar. During his appearance on ‘Koffee With Karan 9’, Salman suggested that Karan’s nervousness around him may have stemmed from the time when he and Shah Rukh were not on good terms. The conversation began with Karan admitting that Salman had always made him nervous. “No one gets me more stressed, nervous, and hyper than you. I don’t know why, it hasn’t changed.”Salman wondered whether Karan’s apprehension had anything to do with their own equation or his relationship with someone else. “Is it because of you or is it because of somebody else?” he asked. He then pointed out that there was no reason for Karan to feel uncomfortable now, given that things had been fine for a long time. “Right now you should not be stressed because everything is all good. It’s been good for the longest time.”Salman went on to allude to the period when the relationship between him and the unnamed person had been strained. Without mentioning Shah Rukh by name, he said, “At one point of time, it was not good. So, I could have understood that you were scared of me because of not you, because of Shah Rukh.” Karan burst out laughing at the remark and denied the suggestion. The exchange appeared to reference the much-reported fallout between Salman and Shah Rukh in July 2008. The two stars reportedly got into a heated argument at Katrina Kaif’s birthday party in Mumbai, an incident that made headlines at the time.According to media reports, the disagreement began with comments about their respective television shows, ‘Dus Ka Dum’ and ‘Kya Aap Paanchvi Paas Se Tez Hain?’. The argument allegedly intensified after a remark about Salman’s reported former girlfriend, Aishwarya Rai Bachchan.Karan, who was reportedly present at the party, is said to have left with Shah Rukh and his wife, Gauri Khan, following the altercation. However, there is no clear evidence to suggest that Karan played an active role in the feud. His close association with Shah Rukh, though, meant that he was often drawn into reports surrounding the two actors’ strained relationship.Salman and Shah Rukh remained distant for several years following the reported altercation. Their equation eventually appeared to improve in July 2013, when the two actors shared a public hug at politician Baba Siddique’s Iftaar party, marking a widely noted moment in their reconciliation.
