Nana Patekar’s son Malhar Patekar vows to continue his father’s work; says ‘Nanasaheb Is Immortal’; if I accept that he is gone, I will be finished’ | Hindi Movie News

Malhar Patekar has vowed to preserve his father Nana Patekar’s legacy by continuing the social initiatives he established. Speaking to the media after the veteran actor’s cremation, Malhar said his father’s achievements would keep him alive in people’s memories. He also explained that bringing the actor’s mortal remains from Goa to the family farmhouse involved a long journey.According to Rajshri Marathi, Malhar emphasized that his father’s vision extended beyond cinema. He said the work undertaken through the Naam Foundation and the Nirmala Gajanan Foundation must continue, with the next generation taking responsibility for these initiatives.
Malhar Patekar says his father will remain immortal
Reflecting on his father’s passing, Malhar said Nana Patekar’s contribution to society made him irreplaceable. He also recalled the actor’s belief in uniting people to improve the world. “We are all going to leave this world physically one day, just as Nanasaheb has. But his achievements and the work he has done make a person like him immortal. That is the first thing. “The second thing is that he always believed in one idea: ‘Let’s get together in the name of humanity and work for the betterment of the world.‘ He always thought on a global scale and wanted people to come together for the betterment of humanity.”
Family vows to continue his charitable initiatives
Malhar said the family would work to fulfil the goals his father had set for his charitable organizations. He stressed that continuing these initiatives would be a lasting tribute to the late actor. “The work that lies ahead, whether through the Naam Foundation or the Nirmala Gajanan Foundation, must continue. The ideas he had in mind need to be carried forward. We will spend our lives fulfilling those goals, and we must continue even beyond that. As long as we keep working towards these causes, everything will be fine. “These are the three things that matter. There is nothing else.“For me, Nanasaheb will always be Nanasaheb. If I accept that Nanasaheb is gone, I will be finished myself. So, for me, Nanasaheb remains Nanasaheb. A person with such achievements never truly goes away. His work has made him immortal. There can be no two opinions about that.” “Let me say one more thing. His vision was always global. He believed in bringing people together in the name of humanity and working for the betterment of the world. That was one of his core principles.”
Nana Patekar had handed over responsibilities to the next generation
Malhar revealed that his father had already transferred responsibilities at both foundations to the next generation. Nana Patekar had apparently wanted to begin another project from scratch after handing over the organizations he had built. “The third thing is that you may find this surprising, but he handed over everything he had built to the next generation. He did this at both the Naam Foundation and the Nirmala Gajanan Foundation. He wanted to hand over the responsibilities and start again from zero somewhere else. That was what he had in mind,” he added. “All I hope is that this work continues for the rest of our lives. We will continue contributing to it as well. I also urge all of you to join these efforts. Let us all come together and contribute. We are working across three verticals, and we should continue supporting all of them.”
