KTR Challenges Telangana CM on Assets, Slams Govt Over Farmer Woes | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: BRS working president KT Rama Rao dared chief minister A Revanth Reddy to order an inquiry by a sitting supreme court judge into KCR’s family assets and his (Revanth) family assets since their generations. Responding to allegations by the CM on his own assets, KTR said he had worked in the US for six years before returning to India and starting a hotel business in 2006 with his earnings. He said that all details of his assets and business interests had been declared in election affidavits and accused the CM of presenting already public information as a new revelation.Speaking at a meeting in Telangana Bhavan where he welcomed several leaders from Congress and BJP leaders from Armoor constituency into the BRS on Thursday, KTR alleged that the Congress govt in Telangana had failed farmers, weavers, youth, Backward Classes (BCs), Dalits and minorities by not fulfilling its promises.Referring to CM Revanth Reddy’s Sircilla public meeting on Wednesday, KTR said that the state govt had ignored the plight of handloom workers. He said orders for Bathukamma sarees and school uniforms had been discontinued, adversely affecting the weaving community. He also questioned the status of welfare measures such as Nethanna Bima and criticised the govt for not announcing relief for families of deceased weavers.“CM’s Sircilla visit was a flop. Thousands of police personnel were deployed and opposition leaders were detained. “You (Revanth) are not a Nallamala Tiger; you are Chandrababu’s cat,” KTR said. He alleged that police presence far outnumbered public participation during the visit. The BRS leader also raised questions about business dealings, tenders and land transactions allegedly linked to the CM”s relatives and associates. He demanded explanations regarding certain contracts and investments, claiming that questions about these issues had drawn an angry response from the CM.KTR also criticised the state government’s investigations into the Kaleshwaram Project, power purchase agreements, Formula-E race arrangements and banking transactions, questioning what tangible outcomes had emerged from those inquiries. He alleged that the govt was attempting to divert public attention from unfulfilled election promises and guarantees.KTR said farmers across Telangana, from Adilabad to Alampur, were facing severe hardships due to inadequate power supply, delays in Rythu Bandhu assistance and shortages of urea. He claimed that farmers were recalling how, during former CM KCR’s tenure, urea would reach fields promptly upon request. Farmers are now urging the BRS to fight on their behalf against the govt, he said.Recalling KCR’s earlier warning that people would suffer if they were misled by false promises, KTR said the prediction had come true. He accused the Congress govt of bringing back conditions marked by power shortages and irrigation problems despite promising better governance.ends/
