Actress Kayadu Lohar, who rose to fame with the Tamil film ‘Dragon’ played the female lead in Nani and Srikanth Odela’s latest release, ‘The Paradise’. The film has been performing decently at the box office but received a mixed response from the audience, with some viewers also expressing disappointment with Kayadu’s character.Recently, the actress opened up about how director Srikanth Odela narrated the character to her and warned her that it would be very different from her previous roles.

Srikanth Odela called himself a ‘different’ director

During a conversation with Permit Room, Kayadu recalled her first narration with the ‘Dasara’ director. She said the director introduced himself as someone who works differently and warned her that she needed to be ready for his style.“He gave me a brief about himself. He said that I’m a very different director, a little ‘mad’, I don’t have plans and all. So only if you are up for that game, let me know. And I was like yeah, fine with it, because I didn’t know what was coming,” she said.

Kayadu Lohar says the role was difficult

The ‘Funky’ actress added that she had confidence in the project because it was led by Nani and featured music by Anirudh Ravichander. She also knew Srikanth from his previous film ‘Dasara’.Kayadu said she initially wondered how “mad” Srikanth could actually be. However, she later understood what the director meant while working on the film.“So I thought to myself, yeah fine, how mad could ‘mad’ mean? It can’t be that much. But now I’ve realized just how much it is! But… then he narrated the character to me. He told me that it will be very different from what you have done. It might be difficult also,” she recalled.‘The Paradise’ was released on September 24 and has received a mixed response from audiences and critics. Some viewers praised the film’s performances and technical aspects, while others raised concerns about the story and certain characters.According to the figures shared by trade analyst Sacnilk, the film had collected Rs 79.68 crore net in India by Day 4, with its India gross standing at Rs 94.37 crore. The Day 4 net collection was reported at Rs 3.28 crore as of this morning.The film had collected Rs 46.25 crore on Day 1, Rs 14.90 crore on Day 2 and Rs 15.25 crore on Day 3.

Nani responds to the feedback

Nani has also addressed the mixed response to the film. The actor said he welcomed the feedback and acknowledged the flaws pointed out by audiences and reviewers.“I have seen all your reactions and responses. I’ve received all your love and equally enjoyed your hilarious trolls. I’m heartwarmed by the way audience have owned the film, and also learnt from the flaws that critics and reviewers have pointed out. Thank you for everything is all I can say,” Nani wrote.He added, “We have made #TheParadise with a lot of blood and sweat to give you a unique experience, and it’s all yours to celebrate or judge.”The film also includes Mohan Babu, Sonali Kulkarni and Raghav Juyal in key roles.
