Man gets life term for killing father with axe two years ago | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: A local court on Friday sentenced Kavali Nadesh to life imprisonment for killing his father with an axe during a quarrel over money at Rayapally village in Rajapur mandal of Mahabubnagar district nearly two years ago.The convict was found guilty of killing his father, Kavali Narayana, at Rayapally village in Rajapur mandal on Sept 19, 2024. The Family Court-cum-III Additional District and Sessions Judge, P Anjaneyulu, sentenced Nadesh to life imprisonment and imposed a fine of ₹5,000.According to the police, Nadesh frequently quarrelled with his parents over money. His parents earned their livelihood through daily-wage work, while Nadesh did not have regular employment and often demanded money from them.On the night of Sept 19, 2024, Nadesh picked up an axe during an argument with his parents and repeatedly attacked Narayana in the neck. His mother, Kavali Chandrakala, rushed into the house after hearing screams and found her son attacking his father with the axe.Though family members rushed Narayana to the govt hospital in Jadcherla, his condition was critical, and he succumbed to his injuries during treatment.Based on a complaint lodged by Chandrakala, the police registered a case and launched an investigation. The police collected evidence and presented it before the court, establishing the prosecution’s case against Nadesh.After examining the evidence and proceedings in the case, the court convicted Nadesh and sentenced him to life imprisonment, along with a fine.
