Why fear showing substation log books, Harish asks Cong | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: BRS deputy floor leader T Harish Rao on Sunday accused the Congress govt of imposing unannounced power cuts, alleging farmers were receiving only a few hours of supply and their crops were drying up. He said the govt was diverting attention from its failures instead of addressing farmers’ problems.Harish Rao made the remarks after inspecting the Motakondur substation following complaints from farmers. He alleged the substation log book, which records power supply, outages and tripping, had been removed ahead of his visit.“If the Congress govt is providing 24-hour power, why is it afraid to show the log book?” he asked.Harish Rao alleged farmers were not getting even six to seven hours of power and demanded that local MLA Beerla Ilaiah and Bhongir MP Chamala Kiran Kumar Reddy visit substations and ascertain the situation. He accused the govt of using diversion politics to shift attention from its six guarantees and alleged the present drought was caused by Congress’ failure rather than El Nino’s impact. He said BRS would intensify its agitation until farmers received quality power.
