In an interview with Vanitha, the actor revealed that her father once gave her a choice between seriously considering marriage and buying a house.Parvathy said she chose the latter and went on to purchase her first home. She added that her parents did not bring up the subject of marriage with her again after that.The 38-year-old actor is currently receiving attention for her performance in Prathamadhrishtya Kuttakkar, which is running in theatres. The film features Parvathy in the lead role alongside Vijayaraghavan, Mathew Thomas, Sidharth Bharathan, Unnimaya and Azees Nedumangad.

Speaking about her family’s approach to marriage, Parvathy recalled a conversation she had with her father when she was 25. According to the actor, her father suggested that she either start seriously considering marriage or look at purchasing a home.She said, “When I was 25, my father told me that I should either seriously consider getting married or buy a house. I replied by asking him to give me the papers to buy a house, saying that I would sign them. That is how I bought my first house. After that, my father and mother never mentioned marriage again.”

Parvathy also explained that she does not view marriage as something that should happen simply because of age or societal expectations. For her, the decision would come from a personal desire to share her life with someone.She said, “I will consider marriage only when I genuinely feel, deep inside, that I want to spend my life with someone. I have been in relationships, but none of them progressed to the decision to get married.”The actor added that she looks back positively on the relationships she has experienced. “The good thing is that they were all beautiful relationships,” Parvathy said.

The actor further addressed the social pressure surrounding marriage, particularly the expectations placed on women to marry at a particular age.“Society keeps saying that women should get married at a certain age, doesn’t it? A family should make a decision about a woman’s marriage only with her consent. I am lucky in that regard,” she said.

On the professional front, Parvathy Thiruvothu is currently seen in ‘Prathamadhrishtya Kuttakkar’. Along with receiving good reviews, the film has maintained its theatrical run at the box office. According to Sacnilk, the film collected a net of Rs 1.59 crore across 929 shows on Day 5. The latest figures take its total India net collection to Rs 9.04 crore, while its total India gross collection has reached Rs 10.49 crore so far.
