Ponguleti questions KTR’s claims on KCR landholdings

Hyderabad: Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivas Reddy on Wednesday questioned BRS working president KT Rama Rao’s claim that former chief minister K Chandrasekhar Rao (KCR) was born into a family that owned hundreds of acres, pointing to the landholdings declared by Rao in his election affidavits.Responding to KTR’s remarks on X, Ponguleti shared KCR’s 2004 Karimnagar Lok Sabha election affidavit and questioned how his landholdings had increased over the years.Ponguleti said KCR had declared in his 2004 affidavit that he did not own any agricultural land. He questioned how the former CM later came to possess land worth thousands of crores of rupees.He said election affidavits submitted by KCR showed a substantial increase in his landholdings during the Telangana movement and over his 10 years in power.Ponguleti also questioned whether the details furnished in KCR’s election affidavits were incorrect or whether people were being given conflicting accounts of his assets.He further questioned how the KCR family accumulated substantial assets during the BRS’s decade in power while many Telangana movement activists were left burdened with debt.He asked KTR to explain the discrepancy between his claims and the details contained in KCR’s election affidavits.
