Rashmika Mandanna is confirmed to be playing the legendary Indian classical vocalist MS Subbulakshmi in her upcoming biopic. The actress recently took to her Instagram handle to share the first poster of the film and announced that the title and first look would be revealed soon.

In the poster Rashmika Mandanna can be seen as M S Subbulakshmi. She is seen mostly from a side angle with her face slightly visible. The actress is dressed in a rich blue-green saree with a red border and traditional jewellery. Her hand is seen resting on the strings of a traditional veena. She is also wearing red and gold bangles, rings and a delicate bracelet. The warm golden lighting gives the poster a classic look.Rashmika also confirmed that the title of the film and its first will be unveiled tomorrow at 5.15 in the evening.Along with the poster she wrote, “Some legends live beyond time. Some melodies live beyond generations. And some stories wait for the right moment to be told. Today, that journey begins and What an absolute honour it is. Title & First Look, Tomorrow 5:15 PM.”Speaking of the legend, M S Subbulakshmi was one of the most respected names in Carnatic music, the traditional form of South Indian classical music. She was also the first musician to receive the Bharat Ratna, India’s highest civilian honour.The film is directed by Gowtam Tinnanuri of the ‘Jersey’ fame. The official launch of the film will take place in Chennai on Wednesday, September 16, which marks Subbulakshmi’s 110th birth anniversary. Actor Kamal Haasan will attend the event as the chief guest.

The production banner also announced the launch on X, writing, “A LEGACY begins with an unforgettable celebration.
