BJP demands judicial inquiry on Dharani land transactions

Hyderabad: BJP floor leader A Maheshwar Reddy on Saturday questioned why the state govt was not ordering an inquiry by a sitting high court judge when the Congress itself had alleged that the previous BRS govt was involved in large-scale land irregularities. He demanded that the state govt make the forensic report on Dharani land transactions public. “Common people are facing problems due to 22A and land is a sentiment issue for people. If largescale irregularities have taken place, why is the govt hesitating to order a judicial inquiry,” he asked.“While the lands of common people are being taken over and bulldozed by the govt in the name of HYDRAA, big developers have been let off despite encroaching upon the Musi riverbank,” he said. The MLA said that although there were allegations of land grabbing on big developers, their lands were not included under 22A. Deputy CM Bhatti Vikramarka, minister D Sridhar Babu and other Congress MLAs, including Beerla Ilaiah, Vijaya Ramana Rao, alleged that instead of making suggestions, the BJP MLA was merely ‘reading from the BRS script.
