MSD opens 2.5 lakh sqft technology centre in Hyderabad | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Global biopharma giant MSD (Merck & Co Inc, Rahway, New Jersey) has opened a 2.5 lakh sq ft technology centre in Hitec City, marking a significant expansion of Hyderabad’s life sciences and technology ecosystem.MSD said the facility will support its global human health business by building capabilities in digital technology, data, analytics, artificial intelligence, engineering and enterprise solutions.Inaugurating the facility, Telangana IT & industries minister Sridhar Babu said Telangana’s life sciences sector, which is home to over 2,000 companies across APIs, bulk drugs, generics, vaccines, CDMO, research and discovery, is moving from manufacturing strength towards advanced research and global capability creation.Pointing out that Hyderabad is a global vaccines leader and hosts one of the largest concentrations of USFDA-approved facilities outside the United States, Sridhar Babu said the state’s next-gen life sciences policy 2026–30 is looking at integrating discovery, manufacturing, clinical research and technology, while helping Telangana reach the 100 life sciences GCCs mark.He said Telangana is also developing Bharat Future City with a 2,100-acre life sciences zone and a 100-acre advanced biologics hub.Abhishek Narayan Singh, senior vice-president, digital human health, MSD, said Hyderabad’s technology ecosystem, digital expertise and talent pool made it an ideal location for the company.
