T govt begins reconstruction of Ugra Narasimha Swamy temple | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: Deputy chief minister Bhatti Vikramarka on Monday said the Congress govt, led by chief minister A Revanth Reddy, was committed to protecting and developing Telangana’s ancient temples.He participated in the Bhoomi Puja for the reconstruction of the Ugra Narasimha Swamy temple in Dharmapuri, along with social welfare minister Adluri Laxman Kumar and endowments commissioner Hanumantha Rao.The ministers received a traditional Poorna Kumbha welcome from Vedic scholars and performed special prayers before participating in the foundation ceremony according to scriptural traditions.Bhatti said the govt was making elaborate arrangements for the 2027 Godavari Pushkarams and had allocated ₹1,000 crore in the budget for related works. He said major temples and pilgrimage centres from Basara to Bhadrachalam would be developed with improved infrastructure for devotees. Of this, around ₹200 crore would be spent on developing Dharmapuri and Kotilingala in the Dharmapuri constituency, he added.The deputy CM laid the foundation stone for the ₹10-crore reconstruction of the Ugra Narasimha Swamy temple, a ₹2.5-crore electrical substation at Thimmapur, ₹22.1-crore Pushkaram ghats on the Godavari and nine roads in Dharmapuri and Kotilingala costing ₹58.5 crore.
