Actor Silambarasan TR is gearing up for the release of his upcoming film, ‘Arasan’. The film is directed by Vetri Maaran and is scheduled to hit the big screens in November. The makers have now started the promotional work, and Silambarasan while sharing some interesting details drew parallels with Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh‘s blockbuster ‘Dhurandhar’.
Silambarasan compares ‘Arasan’ with ‘Dhurandhar’
According to a report by Cinema Express, the actor compared Arasan with Aditya Dhar and Ranveer Singh’s blockbuster Dhurandhar. He said that the Vetri Maaran directorial could make Tamil cinema proud in the same way Dhurandhar made the Hindi film industry proud.The ‘Thug Life’ actor will reportedly appear in multiple get-ups as the story follows his character from a young age to old age. “It is a very realistic film shot in several real locations. You all know about Vetri sir; he is a director who seeks perfection,” the actor shared.He further said, “It will have an impact similar to how Dhurandhar made everyone watch the film and feel proud of their industry.”
Director Vetri Maaran’s past comments
Interestingly, Silambarasan’s comparison comes at a time when back in March Vetri Maaran criticised films that promote hate and violence during the trailer launch of his film ‘Neelira’. According to Cinema Vikatan, the director mentioned that some films are only made to earn big numbers while they divide people. “Hundreds of crores are being chased by lifting up violence and hate,” and added, “Films are being used to justify hate politics,” he said. It is imperative to mention, Vetri Maaran did not directly mention ‘Dhurandhar’ while making those comments.

Talking about ‘Dhurandhar’, it tells the story of an Indian spy, played by Ranveer Singh, who enters a terrorist network in Pakistan and its politics. Together with its second part, ‘Dhurandhar: The Revenge’, the franchise reportedly earned more than Rs 3000 crore from theatres worldwide.
