Actress Mamitha Baiju has been hospitalised after suffering from high fever and body pain. The actor was scheduled to travel to Australia this week for an Onam celebration. However, her current health condition has forced her to cancel the visit.Mamitha Baiju was expected to attend the Lendaxis Clyde Onam 2026 celebration as the chief guest. The event was scheduled to take place on September 5. The Clyde Malayali Association has now postponed the programme following the actress’s hospitalisation.
Actress was set to attend Clyde Onam 2026
Mamitha Baiju was looking forward to meeting members of the Malayali community in Australia. The Clyde Malayali Association had made arrangements for the event and had announced her presence as the celebrity guest.The organisation later shared an update about the change in plans on social media. It also posted a video featuring Mamitha Baiju, in which the actress explained why she would not be able to travel.The association wrote, “Dear friends and families, We’re here today with a difficult update about Lendaxis Clyde Onam 2026, which was planned for September 5th. As you all know, we were eagerly waiting to welcome Mamitha Baiju as our celebrity guest.Unfortunately, Mamitha has been hospitalised and is not in a position to travel on the proposed date. More than anything else, we wish Mamitha a speedy recovery and hope she gets well soon.Because of this unexpected situation, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Clyde Onam 2026. We know this is disappointing. So many of you have been looking forward to this day, and our volunteers, performers and sponsors have already put their hearts into making it special. We are now working with Mamitha’s team and the venue to confirm the next available date, and we will share it with you as soon as possible.Thank you from our hearts for your patience, understanding and continued support. This is only a small delay. We will celebrate Onam together — and we’ll make it worth the wait.”
Mamitha Baiju explains her health condition
In the video, Mamitha Baiju personally addressed those who were expecting to see her at the event. She confirmed that she is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.“Unfortunately, I will not be able to be there on the date that was confirmed. I am currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. If there had been any way possible, I would have come, but the doctors have advised me to take complete rest,” Mamitha Baiju said.The actress also expressed her disappointment over missing the Australia programme. She said she had no other option but to cancel the trip due to her condition.
Actress apologises and hopes to visit later
Mamitha Baiju apologised to the organisers and everyone who had been waiting for her appearance. She also expressed her wish to meet the members of the Clyde Malayali Association on another occasion.“I want to come and meet the Clyde family. I apologise to everyone. It is because of this situation that I have had to cancel. I hope this can happen on another occasion,” Mamitha Baiju said.The association has said that it is coordinating with Mamitha Baiju’s team and the venue to find a new date. The revised schedule is expected to be announced once the arrangements are finalised.Meanwhile, Mamitha Baiju is also enjoying the theatrical run of ‘Bethlehem Family Unit’, along with the success of her recently released Suriya starrer ‘Vishwanath and Sons’.
