The Clyde Malayali Association had made arrangements for the event and had announced her presence as the celebrity guest.The organisation later shared an update about the change in plans on social media. It also posted a video featuring Mamitha Baiju, in which the actress explained why she would not be able to travel.The association wrote, “Dear friends and families, We’re here today with a difficult update about Lendaxis Clyde Onam 2026, which was planned for September 5th. As you all know, we were eagerly waiting to welcome Mamitha Baiju as our celebrity guest.Unfortunately, Mamitha has been hospitalised and is not in a position to travel on the proposed date. More than anything else, we wish Mamitha a speedy recovery and hope she gets well soon.Because of this unexpected situation, we have made the difficult decision to postpone Clyde Onam 2026. We know this is disappointing. So many of you have been looking forward to this day, and our volunteers, performers and sponsors have already put their hearts into making it special. We are now working with Mamitha’s team and the venue to confirm the next available date, and we will share it with you as soon as possible.Thank you from our hearts for your patience, understanding and continued support. This is only a small delay. We will celebrate Onam together — and we’ll make it worth the wait.”

Mamitha Baiju explains her health condition

In the video, Mamitha Baiju personally addressed those who were expecting to see her at the event. She confirmed that she is currently receiving treatment at a hospital.“Unfortunately, I will not be able to be there on the date that was confirmed. I am currently undergoing treatment at a hospital. If there had been any way possible, I would have come, but the doctors have advised me to take complete rest,” Mamitha Baiju said.The actress also expressed her disappointment over missing the Australia programme. She said she had no other option but to cancel the trip due to her condition.

Mamitha Baiju apologised to the organisers and everyone who had been waiting for her appearance.
