HYDERABAD: The All India Majlis-e-Ittehadul Muslimeen (AIMIM) has expelled Telangana Legislative Council member Mirza Rahmat Baig from the party with immediate effect, according to a party statement.SA Hussain Anwar, joint secretary of AIMIM, said Baig had also been directed to submit his resignation to the chairman of the Telangana Legislative Council immediately, news agency ANI reported.The party announced the decision through its official social media handles.AIMIM has not disclosed the reason for Baig’s expulsion so far.The party has yet to provide details about the circumstances leading to the action.It was also not immediately clear whether Baig had been served any prior notice or whether the decision followed any specific complaint against him.Further details are awaited.(With agency inputs)
