Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju’s ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ is leading the Malayalam box office race this Onam season. The film has maintained a strong run during its opening week.According to Sacnilk, ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ collected an estimated Rs 8.75 crore net in India on Day 7. The film recorded 2,340 shows on Thursday. Its total India net collection has now reached Rs 52.30 crore. The India gross collection stands at Rs 61.05 crore.
Nivin Pauly film crosses Rs 50 Cr milestone
Nivin Pauly film has officially crossed the Rs 50 crore mark in India net collections. It added Rs 8.75 crore on its seventh day.The latest figure is also higher than the Rs 7.90 crore net collection reported on Day 6. This represents a growth of around 10.8%.
Worldwide collection reaches Rs 124.55 Cr
The Nivin Pauly and Mamitha Baiju starrer has also performed strongly in overseas markets. ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’ earned Rs 5 crore in overseas gross collections on Day 7.Its cumulative overseas gross collection has now reached Rs 63.50 crore. When combined with its India gross, the film has reached a worldwide gross collection of Rs 124.55 crore.The film’s Day 7 India gross stood at Rs 10.15 crore. Kerala contributed the largest share with Rs 9 crore. Karnataka followed with Rs 48 lakhs. Tamil Nadu contributed Rs 30 lakhs. Andhra Pradesh and Telangana added Rs 7 lakhs. The rest of India contributed another Rs 30 lakhs.
‘Khalifa’ records lower numbers
Prithviraj Sukumaran‘s ‘Khalifa’, meanwhile, has posted considerably lower numbers. The film collected an estimated Rs 1.25 crore net in India on Day 8. It recorded 685 shows on Thursday.The total India net collection of ‘Khalifa’ has reached Rs 16.62 crore. Its India gross collection currently stands at Rs 19.26 crore. The film has also earned Rs 18.25 crore in overseas gross collections.Its worldwide gross collection has reached Rs 37.51 crore so far. The Day 8 collection was 7.4% lower than the Rs 1.35 crore net earned on Day 7.
Occupancy shows audience preference
The occupancy figures also indicate the stronger theatrical response for ‘Bethlehem Kudumba Unit’. The film recorded an overall occupancy of 71.75% on Day 7. Night shows performed the best with 79.17% occupancy. Evening shows followed with 75.75%.Afternoon shows recorded 71.08% occupancy. Morning shows registered 61%.‘Khalifa’ recorded an overall occupancy of 45.44% on Day 8. Night shows registered the highest occupancy at 53.50%. Evening shows recorded 42.90%.
