Hyderabad: US ambassador to India Sergio Gor interacted with top India Inc honchos from strategic sectors such as defence manufacturing, semiconductors, pharmaceuticals and technology in Hyderabad, with an eye on accelerating bilateral trade, securing high-tech supply chains, expanding US-India commercial ties and converting strategic bilateral policy into real-world business investments across South India.The high-level business roundtable, held over dinner at the Taj Falaknuma Palace on Monday, was aimed at accelerating trade and industrial cooperation between the two countries and marking the 250th anniversary of US Independence. The US ambassador urged companies in Telangana, Andhra Pradesh and Odisha to leverage policy frameworks including TRUST Initiative, Pax Silica, US-India COMPACT and US-India Strategic Mineral Recovery Initiative, as channels for investment, supply-chain cooperation and commercial growth.Gor said the US-India relationship had moved beyond strategic alignment into practical cooperation across sectors. “The US and India have been strategic allies for a long time. Gatherings like this exemplify how far the US-India partnership has moved beyond mere strategic alignment,” he said. “Today, it is a concrete architecture of cooperation spanning defense, technology, life sciences, and space. That architecture is built on the foundation of longstanding business-to-business partnerships between our two countries — partnerships that many of you in this room have helped build, deal by deal,” Gor said.Sources said industry leaders in attendance included Boeing India president Salil Gupte, Dr Reddy’s Laboratories chairman Satish Reddy, Skyroot Aerospace co-founder & COO Naga Bharath Daka, Apollo Hospital Enterprises joint managing director Sangeeta Reddy, Providence global centre country head and chief global officer Murali Krishna and Arcesium president for global operations Ranvijay Lamba, among others.
