400 calls to toll-free number on 22A issues | Hyderabad News

Hyderabad: The toll-free helpline set up to receive complaints regarding the prohibited properties list has received around 400 calls from property owners within three days of its launch.The helpline received 116 complaints on Thursday, with the highest number of calls coming from Ranga Reddy district (23), followed by Medchal-Malkajgiri (17), and Sangareddy and Siddipet (10 each).Yadagiri, a resident of Atmakur (M) in Yadadri-Bhongir district, complained that his 240-square-yard plot had been included in the prohibited properties list due to a legal dispute involving survey number 630. He said that while only one plot was under dispute, the entire survey number had been included under Section 22A. He approached the helpline seeking govt intervention to resolve the issue.Revenue minister Ponguleti Srinivasa Reddy held a teleconference with officials and directed them to treat every application received through the call centre as a responsibility and monitor it until the issue is resolved.Ponguleti reviewed the functioning of the call centre set up to address 22A complaints, including the number and nature of calls received, their resolution, the issues generating the highest number of complaints, and the information being provided to callers.He also sought details from officials on the status of complaints and applications received from four districts.The minister directed officials to register every complaint received through the call centre and forward the applicant’s complete details to the tahsildar concerned, RDO, sub-registrar and other relevant officials. He instructed them to continuously monitor the progress of each complaint until its resolution.He said resolving 22A issues should be treated as a special task, with the revenue and registration departments working in close coordination.Ponguleti assured people that they need not worry about the issue and said the government would stand by genuine rights holders and take all necessary steps to ensure justice for every eligible applicant.
